We were delighted to see Rocky, Managing Director of Wink Lighting, appear on the latest episode of Room to Improve, Ireland’s hugely popular home renovation programme.
Rocky was invited onto the show by architect Dermot Bannon to provide expert lighting solutions for a compact kitchen–living–dining space in a home in Harmonstown, North Dublin. The challenge was to create a well-lit, functional and welcoming space without overcrowding the ceiling or compromising the sense of openness.
Rather than relying on traditional pendant lighting — which can visually reduce height and clutter smaller rooms — Rocky recommended a carefully considered linear lighting approach. By integrating linear lighting at a precise height, the space could be illuminated evenly and effectively, enhancing both functionality and atmosphere while eliminating the need for ceiling-mounted lights altogether.
The result was a clean, contemporary lighting scheme that maximised the perception of space and demonstrated how smart lighting design can transform compact interiors.
Wink Lighting is proud to have contributed to such a thoughtfully designed home and to showcase the impact of expert lighting design in modern renovation projects.
We would like to thank Coco Productions, Dermot Bannon, and the homeowners, Emer and Adam, for the opportunity to be part of this project.
